Nightrider Bus getting better

We’re making it easier for you to get home after a big night in town, without spending a fortune on taxi fares.

Late at night in the city, it can be difficult to get a taxi, particularly during events such as the Grand Prix or New Year’s Eve. The Night Rider service, which departs from Swanston Street, is a safe, affordable alternative to drink driving.

Night Rider every 30 mins

Night Rider bus services now run every half hour instead of every hour, giving you a reliable, safe way to get home with less waiting around.

Since March 2007, the Night Rider fares have become part of the Metcard system which means it won’t cost you a cent more if you already have a valid Metcard. Now, the Brumby Labor Government has provided funding for more buses to deal with the increasing demand.
